Started off loving the narrator, found the beginning to drone on, stopped mid-book. Not sure if it’s a mix of knowing where the story is going so early on, or that I had to fill in the gaps for myself. Magic was so-so for me, nothing out of the ordinary and could have been explored more.
I’m left with a swift romance with nowhere to go but down. In the future I’ll pick this up and restart with a fresh mindset. When that happens I’ll update my review, should anything change.
