Well-Read Black Girl: Finding Our Stories, Discovering Ourselves by Glory Edim
4.0
Here's a great one for adding more titles to your TBR. I'm a fan of learning what writers enjoy reading, I often find it helps enrich my understanding of their art work, and it often just makes me feel smarter - to get an inside glimpse at what artists think is art.
I've never read a book that's, essentially, about books and reading before, though I am aware a fair many of them exist. Not sure it's my preferred genre of essay, but what I will absolutely recommend about this edition is that it's elevating the voices of black women, as they talk about the work of other black women (mostly, there are men and other folks of color suggested as well) and how that work informed them and their sense of self as writers and people in the world.
This would be a great read for educators.
