While I loved IWTV, I do feel this is a better book, it brought a lot more complexity to characters that were otherwise put as just black and  white good or evil in Louis' story. However, I struggled with this book a lot. I struggled with some of how Lestat and his mom acted and I struggled with how much of it was just lore dump that we either could have learned last book or wait for another book to learn.
