The Silver Spike by Glen Cook

3.0

Hadn't finished this one before, and even ended up skimming a lot this time.

It is cool to get a look at the Empire post-Lady, and to see some more wizards between the levels of Goblin/One-Eye and the Taken. Forced as it starts to feel, the Limper is still a good villain. The idea of the Spike conferring that horrid infection is great too.

But also, feels like this story is 20% weird creeps with the spike thieves and 40% sad former great character creeps with Silent and Raven still squabbling over Darling.

Maybe one day I'll really sit myself down to fully read this one, but for now I'd much rather return to Croaker and co.
