The Bridge Kingdom
by Danielle L. Jensen
adventurous
medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven:
A mix
Strong character development:
Yes
This is one of those books that I put off reading for far too long. I'm glad I finally grabbed it to read and cannot wait to continue the series!
Lara is fierce, beautiful, and intelligent. She is tasked with infiltrating The Bridge Kingdom through a marriage of convenience to spy and send their secrets home. Lara is convinced King Aren is keeping wealth for himself, but soon finds out he is a kind, but strong leader. I loved Aren's character and the leadership he showed his kingdom. This was a wonderful read, full of action, politics and romance. The world building was descriptive and well done. I loved that the dual POV gave insights into both Lara and Aren's thoughts and the ending had me shook and ready for book two!
