I was much more connected, and felt for, Vicky than I did for some of the other female characters of this series. My main issue was the ending didn't answer a lot of the things that I was hoping would be tied a little bit more snuggly. Like Eric, and is he a problem any more? Jessie I can see leaving up in the air for his own book. But her mother and sister? and the issues. Yes, real life and they don't get resolved but... it would have been nice to see her get a little respect from some people other than the Coleman's. The treatment from the town because of her admitting to one thing, a long time before, just is over the top and it would have been nice to see it taken down a peg. I felt a little bit like it left me hanging, even though it wasn't a cliffhanger. I wanted the epilogue where some injuries are fixed. Sigh. And here I was complaining about have too much of other people's stories in the last book, I'm going to be wanting the rest of Joel and Vicky in the next.
