The Courting of Bristol Keats
by Mary E. Pearson
Bristol Keats is an ordinary girl who is just trying to survive with her sisters. Their parents both dead, and the bills piling up. They keep getting letters from a supposed aunt who wants to see her. Bristol finally does show up. And when she does, it is not what she expects. When she hears that her father might possibly be alive and in this realm she agrees to go with them, even making a bargain with the far king Tyghan. But what will she find while there? How will this change her life forever?
This book has an interesting concept. I liked the world and the characters. I thought what Bristol had to deal with was thought out and good. However, the ending just was not what I expected or wanted from a book that is getting a sequel. It didn’t end in a cliff hanger at all. Obviously, there are unanswered questions but the ending didn’t leave me wanting more. It was just eh. It could have been done much better to leave you wanting more from the next book. Overall, this was an ok book with promise.
