The best part of this was the beginning with the pirates. I really liked Corayne's introduction but all the characters fell flat for me. It wasn't written terribly, but I found it difficult to visualize the fight scenes due to the descriptions. The entire book was hard to get through. I got very close to dnf-ing at 69%...
