Reading this right after The Handmaid's Tale (which was originally written in 1984 before abortion was even legal in Canada) was a bit wild. Both of those books were great reminders how hard women have had to fight and need to continue to fight for bodily autonomy.

I am also still reeling over the fact that when I was born my Mom had no choices about her body. I was a baby that would be forced to be born, not necessarily wanted. The same of my sister in 1987. By the time my brother was born in 1990 she finally had that choice thanks to the very brave women this book is based on.

"Every mother a willing mother, every child a wanted child."
