Stolen Innocence by Elissa Wall

3.0

Since I read Carolyn Jessop's "Escape" about six months ago, I've been almost obsessed with the Fundamentalist Church of Latter Day Saints and the stories of people who have managed to get out of it. Elissa Wall, the author of this book, was forced to marry her 19-year-old first cousin when she was only 14. The story is redundant and too detailed at parts (I think it would be better if about a third had been edited out), but it provides an honest first-person account of the oppression, mind control, and abuse that occurs in the FLDS.
