Memory is something so fascinating and fundamental. In my collection of short stories, Mr. Memory and Other Stories of Wonder, I wrote about a character with synesthesia. This is a sense or impression of stimulation and it can associate to memory.
In Peter Clients work there is a character that has Eidetic memory, or photographic memory. He takes this down a problem-solving expedition that is both wonderful and horrific.
I would highly recommend this story to those who love scifi, detective stories, and government intrigue. His blend of category type with this plot is fast paced and pays off wonderfully.
