I wasn't as enchanted with this book as the first and there's a few reasons why. Again, I felt disconnected with the fantasy setting. I hoped this one would build on it more (and while it tried to!) but it all felt disjointed. I wasn't very interested in the gods and storyline with them. I also thought the romance was a bit recycled. 
Regardless, I enjoyed it but it wasn't my favorite, either. 
CW: A couple uses of curse words, violence and gore that's mild, a couple fade to black scenes (nothing explicit or detailed)
