Seven of Hearts
by Maggie Gates
medium-paced
Slowly making my way through Maggie Gates' backlog and while I haven't read the Beaufort Poker Club series I feel like Maggie did a great job explaining character backstories so this can read perfectly as a standalone. I have read the Griffith Brothers series by Maggie and I was so excited to be picked as an arc reader for this book!
It took a minute for me to become invested because I felt like things were moving too fast between the MC's Leah and Logan, but once I hit the 20% mark I was all in and I was not going back. I had a lot of fun being back in a world written by Maggie and I can't wait to go and read BPC because I need to experience this family again. I loved the family dynamic and how supportive and there for each other they were. I also laughed so much and shed multiple tears. The complicated parental relationships I think were written well and I have so much empathy for both Leah and Logan.
Logan is so DOWN BAD for Leah and I often found myself screaming and kicking my feet because you can just fell how much he loves her, and how hard he loves his family. Leah deserves the world and I'm so glad her parents came around and changed for the better. Logan's parents on the other hand--kick rocks!!
This book is perfect for you if you love:
Accidental Pregnancy
Best Friend’s Brother
Found Family
Small Town Romance
"Its always been you"
Maggie Gates never fails me and I love her writing so much.
