Wolf Hollow by Lauren Wolk

This book really touched me. It made me think. It made me feel. It was well written and well paced. It showed what individuals and societies do when they put fear above reason. It had historical content I had never heard before. It commented on the devastating effects of war while talking very little about battle. I, personally, loved this book.

That said, this book is labeled as a children’s book. I think it would be very difficult for kids to unpack this on their own. It is dark and heavy and sad. It is not a book I would give them to read silently. It could be a read-aloud that should include much discussion.

This is a book I wish I had someone to discuss it with.
