This book should come with a MAJOR content warning at the beginning about fat phobia, and diet culture. As a fat woman, who has gone through her own body acceptance journey, I found this book extremely triggering. I almost stopped reading due to this but I liked the rest of the story enough to keep me reading. Honestly, if it weren't for the gross references to diet culture and fat phobia, this would've been a five star read for me. The narrator is phenomenal. I can see how a woman who hasn't been on a self acceptance journey might read this and come to that on her own. I find it laughable that the size of our FMC is a size 12 and she's complaining about not being able to find her size in department stores. I have seen up to size 16 readily available in many stores I shop.
Graphic: Body shaming, Eating disorder, Emotional abuse, Fatphobia, Misogyny, Sexual content, Toxic relationship
