I understood the point of this book but also telling it from the POV didn't work for the majority of it. There isn't a lot of focus on Cai himself until the last 200 pages. The plot is just happening around him and he is just a bystander. It wasn't until he goes off on his own little adventure that I really started to enjoy it. I am keen to see how the series finishes off.
