On the Way to the Wedding
by Julia Quinn
Ugh. Did Julia Quinn just give up on this book? Gregory was a nonentity going into this story and he and Lucy remained totally bland and dull all the way through. It is impossible to imagine he could fall madly in love with Lucy when she is constantly described as excessively practical and bound by decorum — she’s got all the personality of a piece of wood. The only reason this review gets two stars is that Kanthony made a memorable and fun appearance early on, and the final chapter was reasonably thrilling with a kidnapping and shootout in the study. However the other 24 chapters of this book were painfully dull and I only finished it because my husband made fun of me for trying to quit 90% of the way through the entire Bridgerton series.
I won, but it was painful.
