Before I Go to Sleep by S.J. Watson

3.0

Before I Go to Sleep's rate of recalling three stars depicts a pointed recommendation of the novel. The first part may appear exhausting due to repetition of memories together with a bunch of suspicions. However, due to brilliant writing and curiosity of the mind, it will at some point develop into a page-turner. My high recommendation is for the readers with grand affection for white-room novels; a novel to read before going to sleep.

The strengths of the book are its heightened writing approach, the intensification of plot through gradual unraveling is top-notch, remarkable characterization of the protagonist with the excellent use of both scientific and psychological references, and accomplished realizations concerning personality, memory, and familial ties. In spite of all its strengths, the overall impact of the novel will leave a so-so experience due to its obvious conclusion inducing a feeling that you knew all along.
