I saw the movies before reading/listening to the book, and I can see the similarities. However, as an adult, I feel as though there is less sense in the book. There seems to be more play on words in the story's facetious manner. The setting was somewhat clear, and so was Alice's attitude and personality. However, I found it hard to make sense of the relationship between the other characters. I suppose it works well as a dream story given the lack of logic in the story's progression.
