Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

In nearly every aspect, this is a very minimalist story. It’s short, there’s only a handful of characters, and the plot is very singular, all of which serve to highlight the vast complexity of its characters. The climactic events do feel melodramatic in the context of the more subdued rising and falling action, but I think it all comes together in such a darkly satisfying way that I am inclined to forgive it.
