Blameless by Gail Carriger

2.0

Two and a half stars, really. It wasn't my favorite in the series (I feel Soulless will always be the best, I'm afraid). Too little interaction between Alexia and Lord Maccon, too much running away from vampires. The writing is still clever as can be and the world is interesting, but I feel like Carriger wants us to be really in love with Madame Lefoux. Which, I'm sorry, but I'm just not. Oh, and at the end when Alexia makes up with her husband by asking him for expensive presents? That was just kind of distasteful to me.
I couldn't put the first book down--I devoured it in just a couple of days, and it took me a week to finish this one. That pretty much says it all.
