This book is gorgeous and I love it.

It's very different from The Kiss Quotient, expect less steam and more emotional digging. But it's a beautiful book and a great addition to the series. I've read it twice now since the first time I wasn't expecting what this book brought to the table. I enjoyed it much more once I realized it was it's own storyline and journey separate from Hoang's first book. Her story's will emotionally tear you up, but she always manages to stich a reader back together with the finest of threads.

The only part that felt off to me on both reads was the ending. It was rather rushed and we don't get answers to all our questions. The tone also ended feeling rather rom-comy to me, which didn't match the rest of the book's vibe. But it is a very eventful ending.
