Kindred is about a woman named Dana from 1976, is transported back to the 1700/1800s to try and save this little boy. She finds out the little boy is her ancestor and anytime he is in trouble and needs saving she is called to him. I read this book when I was high school. It is tough to get through knowing the horrors that so many people face for hundreds of years. But it is very well put together book. Octavia Butler is one that leaves you wanting more. And in the end I guess Dana got the Justice that was deserved but all the characters in the book did not I feel. Recommend to read the especially now with history trying to be erased.
