Honestly found it so much funnier than I thought I would—a testament to dry british humor.
Our main man andy is ridiculous and so funny, the amount of mania and desperation that leek out of him over the course of the book is insane. And the author is so talented at taking readers through the journey of his misery. He is unable to help himself most times and almost always makes the wrong decision. Of course its the most entertaining book Ive read in a long time.
Then, those last few pages provided a lot more depth in my opinion.I understood how jen felt and im glad she was there to vocalize so many thoughts that I think a lot of women feel. I started thinking, how many “great” men in history have died without a partner or children? I can think of a few. Were the women of the past so attached to the idea of marriage simply because they had no ability to support themselves? Honestly the book also brought up a lot of good points about loneliness, children, growing up and growing apart, and friendships.
A totally satisfying read!
