Employing Patience
by Saxon James
3.5 stars - Another installment of the Divorced Men's Club series. I liked this one, but maybe just a skosh less than the others. Not sure why. I have always liked Art, mostly because he just doesn't care about opinions and lives his life freely. When he falls for a younger Joey, a straight Joey, but n Joey who seemingly queer baits him, I guess it just feels a bit skeevy. I realize as we get further into the book that Joey isn't necessarily flirting with him to get ahead in his job or get "things," it's just it's nature to have some fun with everyone, regardless of gender. Joey knows Art is attracted to him though, so it just feels off.
However, Joey begins to feel things for Art that he's never felt for another man and begins to feel jealous of him talking about his conquests. He ends up c**k blocking him at a club so he can't go home with anyone else. Art just realizes he isn't interested in anyone and really wants Joey.
Things happen, Art, as his alter ego, does some great charity work and makes Joey's life easier, and Joey comes to terms with the fact that he wants Art.
With some help (interference?) from the DMC, Art's sister and the niblings, Art and Joey finally figure it out.
I do recommend the book simply as a continuation of the DMC series by Saxon. They are really good and it looks like Keller and Will are going to have a fun age gap/best friend's dad story coming up! Looking forward to it.
