The Kind Diet: A Simple Guide to Feeling Great, Losing Weight, and Saving the Planet
by Alicia Silverstone
I bought this not so much for the weight loss aspect, but for the vegetarian-vegan-macrobiotic mix. I read the book well over a month ago, and I've yet to try one of the recipes. I'm not very good with the follow-through on that sort of thing.
The book is written in a very conversational tone, and at times, I thought I could be reading something written by her Clueless character, Cher Horowitz. For some, The Kind Diet may be an easier read than Mark Bittman's In Defense of Food, etc. If TKD reaches more people (because of Silverstone's celebrity) and makes them more aware of the dangers of too much sugar, too much meat, etc. in their diet then this book has done its job.
