The first book surprised me. I’m not usually a fan of MarySue main characters. I loved Twilight for what it was, but I’m not exactly a Bella fan (or an Edward one btw)
So, reading the first chapters was like meh Rowan…. She can throw a punch, but she is kind of pathetic.
So i was surprised that i got so into it and basically swallowed the book in one go.
The anticipation for book 2 was high.
I wanted more Rowan and Shai and Orion.
But i feel it kinda fell short? It’s not a worse book but it’s not better than the first one either.
Rowan again starts a bit pathetic, grows a back bone kinda throughout the book. Orion get more of his asshole personally in view. (Im starting to fear for his mental stability tbh, is an HEA possible?)
And Shai is just background noise again.
I am curious to read the 3rd book and find out about Mr Esposito and what’s Orion’s real name and what about Shai ancestry???? Yes, i want more.
But i was a bit bored by the first half of the book (mostly) and it somehow felt like it was lagging and rushing at the same time?
I’m still having a bit of trouble with rating and reviewing it. I think i might need a reread? Or lore time to process maybe.
