This is a prequal to the Armistice Killer and This Changed Everything, featuring DCI Ben Logan, who suffers from face blindness and is unable to recognise faces, leading him to compensate for this in other ways. This book focuses on our FMC, Paula Goodwin, who finds a post-it note with a telephone number on it in a motorway services car park, and decides to call the number. This leads to her life unravelling before she knows it!
Well all I can say is WOW! What a book, it gripped me from the first page to the last! David's writing style is excellent with the ability to build the characters quickly and efficiently, not wasting any time in bringing the reader along for a rollercoaster of a ride, and just when you think you understand whats going on he hits you with another plot twist!
David has taken the usual crime / thriller and turned it on its head and I loved it. the characters are a mix of good and bad i.e. human and this story delves into just how much the human psyche can take before it snaps!
I cannot rate this highly enough and have done so to anyone who will listen!
