We Were Dreamers: An Immigrant Superhero Origin Story by Simu Liu
5.0
This has everything you’d want out of a good, compelling memoir. Liu is charming, funny, self-effacing, and incredibly relatable, and this memoir tells the story of his parents’ lives growing up in China and their eventual Canadian emigration, as well as Liu’s own rise to eventual Marvel stardom—which was not a path without failure, heartbreak, and struggle. Liu is a strong writer, and the audiobook, read by the author himself, is a joy to listen to. If you enjoy memoirs, check this one out.
