The Women Behind the Door by Roddy Doyle
3.0

There is a lot of jumping around as we follow Paula's mind which bounces from emotions and memories. I was somewhat confused by the second half, when perhaps Paula actually saw her life and circumstances in a clearer view. Her house is messy and dirty, the history of daughter Nicola and Joe is unveiled and it's not pleasant. I rounded this up from 2.5 because I thought the author was tuned into this woman of a "certain age" and the all too common afflictions that come with wisdom and a rear view mirror of one's life.
