Elder Race by Adrian Tchaikovsky

This was very fun! It has a unique split tone, interesting characters, and an easy-to-read prose. I really liked the alternating perspectives and the horror elements. Nyr is self-admittingly a bad anthropologist, but his perceptions of “superior culture” made me question how he actually got his job in the first place. Still, it was a good length with intriguing technology and character connection.
