I was absolutely obsessed with this book once I started reading it!
The book starts with the main character, Whitney Harris, heading to work expecting a promotion, but she is instead fired. Later that night, she goes to a party to celebrate a friend's success while avoiding discussing her employment status and runs into Domino. After some drinks and conversation, they hook up, and next thing you know, he turns out to be a vampire.
She quickly discovers that her world and the people in it are not as they seem and has to find a way to navigate through it.
This book was fun, funny, relatable, sexy, and full of twists are turns.
I do want to mention that this is book 2 of her Accidents Happen series and although you can read this as a standalone I would recommend reading book 1 first *I won’t spoil it and tell you why* if you like to read things in Chronological order. I know that is going to be my next read!
It definitely feels like a Rom-com Romantasy but it’s so routed in reality. The relationship and banter between Whitney, Lena, and Jackie feels like me and my girlfriends. The writer also did a great job making me feel like I knew her friends whereas some books don’t develop side characters. The representation was on point and I saw myself in the character, I’ve even said a couple of the phrases in the book lol
Domino! I’m afraid to spoil so just read the book.
This is a great story that is enhanced by spice instead of it being a spice forward book or needing to lean heavily on the spice to make it readable.
This is the first book I have read of Jessica’s and she has already become one of my favorite authors!.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
