Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur

Overall this was entirely underwhelming. Or maybe I just don't understand poetry???

Milk and Honey chronicles Rupi Kaur's emotional childhood trauma, breaking free of that trauma during a relationship, having that relationship turn sour, and then healing from said trauma and break-up. There themes of feminism, abuse, violence, and making peace with one's self. I think I liked 3 of the poems.

It feels wrong to rate something that's clearly very personal to the author below average. But at the same time, these poems were published and sold for money, and I think it's okay that I feel a little upset I spent $15 on it.

Honestly, I don't understand the hype.
