The Butcher of the Forest is an enthralling novella about a woman named Veris who has been tasked with rescuing the two children of the Tyrant who wandered alone in the night into the forest. She must bring them both back alive or death awaits her and her loved ones.

I knew immediately that I would love this story from the first page! I felt like the author did an incredible job of feeling like you walked into the middle of a story without feeling really confused. It's like Mohamed crafted an air that made you feel like you knew aspects of the world and characters already.

This story played SO vividly in my mind that I managed to jump scare myself TWICE! I was streaming too so I was caught live in 4k lol.

At the halfway point I started feeling like I was in a fever dream, even though the author did an incredible job painting the scene of what the characters were experiencing and thinking my imagination was still able to run wild and it added to the tense moments.

The ending was so...phew I don't even want to say. Since this is a novella I don't want to say too much of the story other than express my feelings. I personally loved the ending. It felt real, and thus powerful. The ending made me want to shout at everyone to read this. I want to keep endlessly talking about it. I need to read more from this author because wow I am truly stunned!
