Soulkeeper by David Dalglish

It was a real tossup whether to give 2 or 3 stars. It started off terribly, with childishly simple happenings and characters. I almost gave up. Still, I wanted to know more about the world. Sadly, not much changed in that respect. Three gods created the world, including creating five demigods. Conflict ensues yet the gods can only chain and hide the demigods for a few centuries. Meanwhile, people have forgotten the fae and other creatures the demigods created, sticking with the gods.

Then there's the other creatures. Very simple so far: big equals killers, small equals comic relief, and then there's the cartoonish villian Janus. He's even worse than the standard characters who are the main focus of the story.

Still it almost all comes together and his writing flows well. I finally decided to give it three stars, but I don't know if I want to read the next.
