This book...was really slow paced to say the least. I felt like I would go into a reading slump bc of it. It just gave us a run-through of all the couples. I wanna talk abt them one by one. (ranking from most liked by me to least liked by me)
Tristan and Morana. Yes, they were my favourite couple. They understand each other so fully and so nicely. This is the couple that made me cry. I read the bonus shooting scene, and I really cried on that. So much. They were the cutest and most realistic (with my fav enemies-to-lovers-to-lovers trope). The Tristan's povs in this book is fiiiiire.
Dante and Amara were also really cute, but Amara interested me less. She just had a normal personality. She was sweet nonetheless. And I am convinced that every fictional man namedDantee is going to be my book bf. Dante was a charmer. He was funny, hot, cheeky, and morally grey. That's literally my dream man.
Alpha and Zephyr. They were the iconic type of couple bc all novels have a huge guy and a tiny woman with curves (that were reminded in every chapter). Zephyr deserved better tbh. WHY THE HECK DO PEOPLE KEEP ON BETRAYING HER!! I felt really bad for her. Als,o alpha having a tea party with their daughter has to be the cutest thing ever!!! I imagined him in that scene and chuckled. Like SWOOOOON.
The last couple is Dainn and Lyla (Lyna??). I just...don't like Dainn. He gives off manipulator vibes so much that I can't bring myself to like him. But I have tried—I really did. In fact, he was a lot like Zade Meadows (haunting Adeline), and I hated that man. Lyla was a sweetheart, though.
The plot was good, but not the best. It was just a family spiral. Every main person in the syndicate was connected as a family, and I felt like the author couldn't think of anything, so she thought, "Yeah!! The good old "My mother is the granddaughter of my sister’s father’s mother’s husband’s daughter" plot would be amazing!!" But whatever, I wasn't reading the book for the plotanyways.
