I’ve read all of Armas’ other novels and LOVE them and honestly? This one is the worst. The beginning, where the whole lie actually happens is a little too underdeveloped. The lack of important conversations that occur between two people who are supposed to be falling and love and maybe getting married after all? The cringe language in the second sex scene. However, I love Josie and Matthew. I think if the novel delved more into Andrew and Josie’s relationship, Matthew as an individual, why Josie left the other two fiancés, and their values and beliefs outside of marriage, this novel would be much better.
