Foolish Hearts
by Emma Mills
This book was an easy read, really simple to follow and a page turner....but don’t let that deter you!

Claudia (such a granny name 👵🏽) is our MC/narrator and she’s a hoot! I don’t curse like she does but her sarcasm and quick, witty retorts made me question if I was reading my own diary at points.
-
The book starts with a bang...things go haywire from the jump and we the reader, are taken for the ride!
The school’s power couple has broken up and Claudia had the gross misfortune of overhearing EVERY. BITTER. WORD. She is unwillingly paired with one of the persons involved in the breakup for a class project...soon the two are spending time together *outside* of the British lit paper. Hijinks, hilarity, and backhanded compliments follow throughout the story and wrap nicely with a bow of completion.

Emma Mills is a wonder with words and has a way of making the reader feel as though they are in the story, not as a nosy neighbor, but as perhaps a classmate who happens to be everywhere at the right time. I laughed (out loud) at some of Claudia and Gideon’s quips and I my heart shattered for Julia. Amazing. Good stuff.
