Lost Boy
by Ker Dukey
The author has written a note to her readers but it’s more for the newbies that may be interested in this book. Those that have read her work before will know that they’re in for a bumpy ride.
This is a story that would be a perfect fit on Oxygen or ID networks. Two series that came to mind as I was reading were Evil Lives Here and Snapped. I’m sure if you’ve watched any of the shows on these networks there may be others that I may have missed. As I was reading, I could almost hear the theme songs playing on repeat in my head.
We get a brief introduction to Viv and she’s definitely a woman from the shows that I’ve come to watch much too much. She may be a reason why I’m so fascinated by them. Lizzy is one you wonder about after the show ends – what ever became of... Charlotte may be a secondary character but she helps to move things along. Sometimes she’s funny and sometimes she’s a pain in the you know what. But if she weren’t there at the right time then some of the scenes probably wouldn’t make sense. She helps to lighten up some of the darker moments.
This author will have you guessing almost to the very end. It’s a great way to make this a page-turner. Even though you may put this book down, I have a feeling that it won’t be long before you pick it up again. Depending on what your day looks like, I can see this as a book that you could read all in one day.
I wouldn’t consider this romantic in any way but that’s ok even though I'm all about the romance. The author completely got me hooked on the psychological aspect of what was going on with the characters we see and the things that are unknown. Would I read this again? Most definitely. I also can’t wait to check out her suggestions as to other books to read.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
