Wow. Reading this book after celebrating July 4th was truly the best timing. Recent current events have left many of us reeling and growing concerned about the future. This book was a reminder of what light can look like in the darkness. Cody Keenan, a speechwriter for President Obama, played a critical role in putting to words how to honor, recognize, and remember 10 difficult days for our country. In a West Wing-esque fashion, Keenan gave us a behind the scenes look at the Obama years and I found his reflections refreshing, inspiring, and hopeful. If you are like me and feeling a bit lost this book a great way to ground your thinking about what it means to be American.
