So fun fact: I’m kind of obsessed with all things prisons. Alcatraz, Prison Break, etc. So of course this has been sitting on my TBR for a while, but I didn’t want to pay $14 for a kindle book. I received a gift card for Christmas and I could t stop thinking about this book that’s been on my TBR forever, so I bought it.
Personally would never fall for a felon, but the idea of this taboo romance has always intrigued me. I liked the characters, but I thought their relationship was only okay. It seemed to be based on writing about sex to each other, and that’s it.
Once Eric was paroled, the story got a bit more interesting. I thought the drama/conflict was okay, realistic but not quite to the level I wanted. My biggest issue was that after the conflict it was like boom story over the end. I felt ripped off and wanted more. More relationship, more of the smaller issues wrapped up, more happy-something. I’m not even sure I would call this a HFN.
Needless to say I liked this book, but do I regret spending $14 on it? Absolutely.
