The Graveyard Book: Full Cast Production by Neil Gaiman

medium-paced

2.75

the full-cast audiobook of The Graveyard Book is immaculate, especially the main narrator's ability of sounding like a grandpa telling lost fairy tales by the fireplace. the story itself, however, doesn't live up to it. I could say fans of Coraline will love it, but it didn't leave the same mark on me that that one left, despite making it to my "favorite beginnings" shelf. the first half has its sparkling moments —with that creepiness Gaiman is known for and valuable life lessons aimed, I believe, at older kids. still, the chapters work more as independent tales than pieces of a whole, and from the fifth onwards I was so bored the underwhelming resolution of the murder mystery seemed only fitting.
