Touch of Faete by Ligia de Wit

Thank you, NetGalley for the ARC & opportunity to read & review!

Although this is an “Adult” Fantasy Romance- imo it had more of a YA vibe. The FMC- just had a naivety & personality that felt more like a teen/early adulthood outlook. This is a high/low fantasy in the real world, and Faery realm. It was a little bit of a Peter Pan & Pirates twist but with Fae.

I thought the plot was interesting, and tropes that I noticed were:
-Forced Proximity
-Captor/Captive
-Tend to wounds
-Enemy to potentially lovers
-Morally Gray MMC redemption
-Grumpy Sunshine

I think anyone who like fairytales & contemporary romance chick-lit would find this fun. The FMC is big on “rules” in the dating game, and I found the main romantic interest to teeter on a balance between someone I could root for & someone I loathe. The romantic interest was a bit too unrequited and questionable- but perhaps this will be explored further in the series?

I wish the author included a glossary of terms, bc it contained a lot of (what appeared to be) Gaelic/Irish terms in classic Tuatha De Danaan terminology- but in a very RomCom & American Setting. This felt conflicting to me- and I would have liked to have more information with terminology etc.

All in all, this was an easy read.
