Second First Impressions
by Sally Thorne
I'm having a really hard time rating this one because on the one hand it was very cute and sweet, but on the other hand it was not at all what I was expecting out of a Sally Thorne book and I was left feeling a little bit underwhelmed.
I liked Ruthie as a main character and Teddy was very easy to fall in love with (although, like Ruthie, I sometimes didn't believe his words when he lavished her with praise). I thought Melanie along with the dynamic duo of Renata and Aggie made for really fun side characters and the setting was unique, but overall the story didn't sweep me off my feet like I wanted it to. I also felt like some of the end conflict wrapped up a little too quickly/conveniently.
I still had an overall good time reading this and I definitely still plan to pick up whatever Sally Thorne writes next! But this one falls somewhere in the 3-3.5 range for me.
