Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. Maas
3.0
3.5 ⭐️ Fine…….I don’t hate Chaol anymore. I will admit that this is a strong redemption arc, it felt like therapy(?). Likewise, I enjoyed the psychological spin on magic and trauma.
There was a lot of promise in this book, I thought the setting was really intriguing & continued to add depth and breadth to the world of ToG. Nesryn absolutely stole the show though, didn’t she? Her family were so sweet & her relationship with Sartaq was BEAUTIFUL, built on foundations of strength and respect and just felt very well-written.
Overall, I really enjoyed this until it went on too long; it would be brilliant if it was a 100 or so pages shorter. Yrene bored me a bit & the action at the end was just a bit anti-climatic compared with others in the series.
