Very enjoyable read. I only wish the characters were deeper and the plot a little thicker, because the writing itself was such an absolute joy to me. The tone was such a delight that it kept me engrossed even when the direction of the book seemed foggy. It was intriguing to see the protagonist run up against real-life historical figures, but (aside from the descriptions of Custer), it didn't feel authentic.
