I thought I only ever heard good things about this book... But it wasn't for me. I found the concept interesting, the writing was good enough at the beginning to keep me interested, but I just couldn't stop rolling my eyes at the prince, I couldn't understand why Levana even bothered with him and didn't straight up kill him with the way he talked. The romance felt forced, Cinder and the prince had zero chemistry. The kiss made me cringe. The plot was obviously super predictable, but still I was hoping for something more interesting. I was also hoping that this could work as a stand-alone, but it didn't. I have no intention to read the rest of the series.
I thought Cinder was interesting enough but would've appreciated her more in a different story. Keep Cinder, Iko, New Beijing and the market, drop the prince, her step sisters, Lunars. A story of a cyborg trying to fit in within a society that thinks of cyborgs as less-than, the way it kind of started, I would've found more interesting.
