Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman

5.0

Let me just say, this book is an emotional rollercoaster disguised as chick lit. It is both heartwarming and heartbreaking, and full of substance at all times. It can get quite devastating at parts, and therefore not for the faint of heart. But, it creates a profound empathy for an imperfect, all too human character in an all too real world. My perception continued changing over the course of the book, as you got to know Eleanor better. The ending left my heart warm and full. I had formed a connection with every character, and couldn’t stop thinking about them days after I finished the book. Without saying too much, it exceeded my expectations in many ways, and was one of my favorite books I read this past year- worthy of a 5 star rating.
