Well blow me down!! Where do I start? You certainly have to pay attention or you'll be rereading pages. There is a mind-blowing segue through reality that almost felt like changing POV, but it's not. It is quite a darling of genius storytelling, when you get right down to it.

The chick in the lead is a teenage girl named Malibu. She's not moody enough for me, considering all the potholes her family dragged her through. It's other people's moods that are the story here, and Malibu feeling them, directed by the darkness in them, that chomps and stabs and excites.

It's absolutely noir, and not run-of-the-mill. Take it for a spin, I say!
