My Sister, the Serial Killer kept me on edge the entire time. For a book under 250 pages, I constantly questioned what would happen next - how Ayoola would react, if someone else would die. I found Braithwaite's writing style compelling. It was a good mixture of description, action, flashback, explanation, and tense pauses. Thrillers rely on pacing, but they also rely on what information and what information is withheld. Braithwaite is a master, and this novella kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I absolutely recommend passing an afternoon soaking in the story.
Graphic: Blood, Death, and Murder
Moderate: Death of parent and Violence
Minor: Pedophilia
